f you want to listen to an album that will have you dancing by a band that will have you screaming for more, keep reading.
Paramore's new album Riot! is a masterpiece of punk-pop hooks, riffs, and vocals. Riot! is the kind of album that you put into your car's CD player and don't take it out for months.
Hayley Williams' vocals are booming and well, hot. Riot!'s guitar riffs are tenacious, with intense breakdowns. It feels like a complete album. No song on Riot! sounds much like the others, and no song makes me want to skip through to the next. That's what Paramore achieved by putting that much effort into musicianship on Riot.
Riot!'s lyrics are pseudo-emo; they want to sound like they're down with that scene, but they don't want to be too emo and risk being uncool. It's really quite funny listening to. Riot! also had some sweet power ballads. Paramore expressing their pain in another form, I guess. Paramore evenly spread the best songs, Misery Business, Crushcrushcrush, and Born For This, through Riot! for a fine track order.
